What was the last hint you were given of your purpose?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for February 11, 2009:
The last hint - when I woke up this morning with a cat curled up beside my head on my pillow, one on my stomach, and several more scattered across the bed. Every time I turn around I am reminded of my purpose - to nurture and provide a safe, loving home for all of the cats who have appeared in my life.
The first hint - when the aforementioned cats started magically appearing in my life. Wherever I went, there was another one in desperate need of care or a safe place to live. Always, I found it impossible to say "No!" when there was nowhere else for the furry little ones to turn. After all, what's one more?

Help

They’re purrfect… I think I counted i8! I was curious about them so went to the purina site. Cats bring joy to our lives.
They all look well cared for! Bless you for being a compassionate soul - you certainly have your hands full, but I know you must love the attention they return to you. :)
You are purrrrrfect! I have ALWAYS had a deep love for cats. As a child, I was allergic to cats, and couldn’t have one of my own. I would love everyone else’s cats - often leaving sneezing, with itchy and watery eyes. I grew out of my allergy, and have two cats of my own. I can’t imagine life without them. I love what you do for the cats that have come into your life. I would never turn a cat away either!
Hugs!

Thanks to Mikey –who called this your blog about your purrpose when he posted a link on your feature at Gaia Networking –I’m here. I’ve had cats come to me wherever I’ve lived. Lucky me; as I loved and wanted them in my life, but the men in my life [first -dad and then husband] did not want to have pets.
But they’d come anyway, be fed; have their babies and so on. Best of both worlds. I’ve been selfish and never really provided a sanctuary as you have; lucky you!
Oh, all those sweet furballs!
I have 2.
And a dog.
And a bird.
Oh, yeah, a husband. lol.
As I like to say - I have two dogs and too many cats! It’s amazing to see how well all of the cats get along with my dogs. My Beastie Boys, Selkie and Nakali, are wonderfully tolerant of the cats, and I often find a pile comprised of two dogs and six or eight cats all tumbled up together on the big dog bed in the morning. I also have attracted a herd of wild cats from the woods around my home, ones who live outside, and they’ve taken to the dogs as well. I’ll find the outdoor cats in the dogs’ fenced-in yard, snuggled up to my boys where they sit on the deck waiting to come back inside after they’ve done “their business.”
Well, I have 3 dogs and 2 ugly frongs and too many cats/ferals outside… Last evening I came very very late home from work, it was after 11pm, and the cats did not have food all day… so I was just watching the baby cats eating all 3 of them from one plate and my heart was smiling and still does since… I wish i could help more… But 2 of my dogs do not really like them and the 3rd one does not care…
