Great At Any Age!

Posted on Feb 15th, 2009 by Hillora : Sanctuary Caretaker Hillora
I am truly blessed to be going to college at last! Every day is a blessing and a thrill, and I love every step I take on the path towards a formal education. I was afraid when I started that I wouldn't be up to pulling this off, but it has turned out to be a lot easier than I expected. I guess life-experience is truly a benefit when it comes to these things. I am now in my second semester of college, got a 3.8 GPA the first semester, and am pulling down all As this one. I made the Dean's List - hooray! And I just received an invitation to join the Phi Theta Kappa society. I can hardly believe how wonderful this all is!

My greatest thrill is how valuable Gaia has been on this journey, towards confronting the world outside and succeeding in it. So many people have been such a huge inspiration and support to me. Thanks to everyone I have met so far, and to those who I will encounter in the future. Namaste!

It’s nice to read knowing it is possible to never stop learning and expanding. What an honor to now put on your resume dean’s list and Phi Theta Kappa.  But senior to that, just apply the new found skills is gratifying and prideful. Thanks for encouraging education.  Hugs, Kathy

Wow! Congratulations Hillora. So you are actually attending a college?  What subject?
Thanks to Kathy who linked this blog on your feature at Gaia Networking; I came by and saw this wonderful news.

Yes, I quit working and started college full-time last fall. I am going for a degree in Library Information Technology first, then plan to continue at the community college for an Associate of Arts. Then I will transfer to the state university for a bachelor’s degree in Creative Writing, then a master’s, and maybe even a PhD. I LOVE college!!!
