When were you last completely dependent on someone?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for January 21, 2009:
March, 1990 - When I was very suddenly diagnosed with a brain tumor, and hospitalised for a very intensive surgery. I couldn't use the bathroom, or shower by myself. I couldn't choose my own food, and - let me tell you! - hospital food is indeible for a vegetarian! Even when the hospitalization was over, I was pretty much helpless for several months afterwards. It really taught me the value of self-reliance and independence, and showed me how easy living is - it's much better than the alternative! At least while I'm here...

You show much strength of spirit, great to see you have made a good recovery.
Wow! That must have been very difficult. Some events happen that leave us appreciating life more than ever.
