What do you have the hardest time accepting?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for January 17, 2009:
That people choose to go on suffering, when they have been given the tools to change. I've seen this in so many otherwise enlightened people, who just don't seem to be able to let the pain of their dysfunctional pasts go, and move into the fulfilling, successful life which awaits them. Why can't they BELIEVE in the change they can make?

Help

I am so with you on this one, Hillora.
With great self-persuasion I have come to understand that some people need to “hold the place” either because of boddhisattva energy or because they are the hub of the wheel; needing to be in place, just going round and round so that the whole wheel can rotate and the car move forward….

Thanks for the cross-posting Meenakshi.
Like you both, I have experienced much frustration in such instances. But wisdom has shown me that the sense of anything other than peace in me at any given moment, means that I should realise I am attempting to control a situation outside of me. I do want my people - all people - to feel happy. But alas, everyone isn’t interested at present in this, which is unfortunate. Some people get much greater satisfaction, for example, from the attention they get from ‘being the victim of circumstance’.
I recently was ‘de-friended’ because I would not endorse a Gandhi-compared suffering ‘choice’ of a very VERY intelligent person that I know who insisted constantly on repeated the same steps, the same approaches and not letting go to God or visualising a beautiful, different life for themselves. There was comfort and satisfaction from being in that place… something I can only hope will prove to be useful to the Universe in due course.
I do know, it isn’t my ‘problem’ though. Thank goodness!
All the best to you, Sherrilene
Hello beautiful ladies
Suffering has some paybacks for some people as it gives incredible power. When I am faced with people who use their own suffering as weapons or leverage, I could also get very impatient. At the same time, I am also aware that they are in fact suffering from their own ignorance and I send them love and light in the hope that this will help them see more clearly. Because when the light is on, darkness cannot survive.
Sometimes it’s too hard to do this with people you are too involved. So why not create a space where we ask for prayers/healing for those of our close ones and all of our gaia friends who feel like it could come in and send a positive thought. It could go by first names and be fairly anonymous.
Blessings
Or we could make it really anonymous and only talk of situations and not names, Anges? We send out collective calls at The Power of Light pod. Would you like to, without using names? Light is intelligent and knows whence where and whither…and why!
Hillora, I’ve found that acceptance is the answer to most of my problems.
When I attempt to change anything outside of myself and the situation
I’m in, I get thrown into a vortex that spirals out of control..
Like two side of the same coin, every quality within us has its
contrary opposite. I find it comforting knowing that I have a choice as
to how I act or react to every situation..
Love and acceptance of all that is brings us to the perfection hidden within every human soul.
Good stuff here for grokking.
